Marc Emery is the publisher of Cannabis Culture magazine, he is an activist who believes in legalising marijuana and he has been selling marijuana seeds by mail order out of Canada for the last 11 years. He writes 'marijuana seed seller' on his tax return, pays taxes on his earnings, runs for public office and funds POT TV. While no one in Canada seems to mind his activities, the American authorities recently arrested him and he's currently out on bail facing extradition to the U.S.
A private citizen says he's filing charges Friday against pot activist Marc Emery and two of his associates, partly because that will throw a wrench into the United States' plans to extradite the trio to face drug charges in that country.“If he gets charged in Canada that will have major legal consequences for that extradition request,” said David McCann, a local philanthropist and businessman. Thanks to Tim Meehan for this clip.

Emery was on Toronto's premier talk radio station, CFRB tonight, spending a good half hour with host Jim Richards. The shows other guest was British Columbia Civil Liberties Association President Jason Gratl. Mr. Gratl had some very interesting things to say, and made the important point that there were other ways besides an armed police raid for the US government to have Emery stop selling seeds into the United States. Gratl says that foremost among these would have been diplomatic pressure through the Justice Department to get Emery to stop selling into the U.S.
