(CBS4) DENVER Pot users were celebrating the passage of Denver's Initiative 100 Wednesday by lighting up a joint.The initiative allows adults to possess small amounts of marijuana in the city. It passed Tuesday 54% to 46%.Local authorities said the passage really means nothing. Bloomington school officials knew something was up when they looked at a list of recent purchases and spotted an order for 100 lamps.But the order was not for your ordinary kind of lamps, these lamps do more than just light up a room.Bloomington custodial worker Guy Carlson used a district account to request the large number of grow lamps."I don't know what their motivation was for using it, I suspect that it might have been to save some money," said Bloomington Cmdr. Kevin Hinrichs.

The Alberta government is trying some drastic new measures to battle a growing problem. The province is preparing a new law that would allow it to seize children from parents who are either addicted to drugs or involved in the drug trade.Children's Services Minister Heather Forsyth is developing the legislation, which is expected to be introduced in the legislature next spring. If passed, it will be the first legislation of its kind in Canada.

(CBS4) DENVER The group behind the pro-pot initiative on the Denver ballot has changed its controversial billboards.The old one that had been scheduled to debut on Monday showed a battered woman, suggesting that if pot were decriminalized, there would be less domestic abuse resulting from alcohol. Oct. 19 - San Francisco medical marijuana merchants may soon have to operate under new rules and regulations.On Tuesday, the board of supervisors debated the first guidelines since voters legalized medical marijuana almost ten years ago. OLMITO -- An undercover operation in Cameron County led to a massive drug bust.Sheriff's commanders said three men tried to sell undercover officers 300 pounds of marijuana.
