POT TV – Footage from protest action at Thornton Park, August 1st, 2022, Vancouver BC.
Vendors, speakers, musicians, and the public, held protest against continued restrictive cannabis laws, and celebrated the years of pioneering work to end prohibition in BC.
A crowd openly defied Canada’s Cannabis Act, demonstrating the safety of low-barrier cannabis access, and expressed a prohibition-free approach to public health. The protest action began officially at noon, with a ceremonial opening by Steven “The Landlord” Jensen, and was marked by a collective call to end the drug war in Canada at 4:20pm with a smoke-out and singing of “O Cannabis”.
The event featured cannabis education, consumption, prizes, games, local crafts, and a relaxed atmosphere.
Another protest action was also held at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
