WPLG10 reported on a Curaleaf farm that has neighbors upset about the strong scent of marijuana. What they didn’t discuss was the stink of prohibition.
Beyond being inconsiderate to their neighbors, Curaleaf is one of less than 20 active medical marijuana cultivation license holders in Florida. While home growing is still restricted, legal growing licenses cost millions to insure and operate, and have been auctioned for millions more. The regulations don’t ensure quality cannabis or access, and incentivize poor farming practices and profiteers.
Until everyone in Florida can grow freely, the smell of prohibitionist bureaucracy will keep noses turned.
