POT TV – Dr Phil spoke to two youths about the dangers of marijuana.
Citing research from Dr Hans Breiter claiming marijuana causes “brain changes”, while ignoring other evidence that shows no change and a harsh peer review of the study, Dr Phil found a carefully worded way to bring reefer madness on daytime TV when speaking to a sick mother and her two sons.
Breiter also carefully linked marijuana’s supposed effect on fluid intelligence to an inability to feel spiritual.
Maybe the best way to talk to youth about pot isn’t by overstating harm, or ignoring history, but rather by addressing the many other issues in their lives, and giving them the tools to make good decisions.
