Hemp’s fame as a billion dollar crop may have been buried under a few decades of prohibition, but activists have continued to keep its importance prominent.

Longtime cannabis activist, currently barred from entering the legal cannabis market, Jodie Emery, spoke with the CBC from her new coffee shop, Jodie’s Joint, about the move to make sure a full, fair and proper legalization includes more than just buds, and accounts for hemp’s history.
