POT TV – The Tax Foundation shared a proposal on cannabis taxation, “Green Rush: Principles for Taxing Cannabis“.
The Tax Foundation recommended taxation of marijuana by weight and potency, but didn’t ask the obvious question. How was weed taxed before prohibition?
If the same plant was once legal tender in the United States, if you could pay your taxes directly with it, why would it be taxed additionally at a chemical level, or by weight?
